Sick Of Being The Nice Guy

So many times in my life I have encouraged someone to follow an interest or do something for themselves, only to have them then get the rewards I was working towards. I was using a skill for a group of friends, and encouraged volunteers to become part of the program. I was hoping that once the program did well, it would hire from within our pool of volunteers, and I would be considered. As it turned out, ALL the people who got hired or advancement within the team were people I brought to the group. I get overlooked by everyone as a result. The program had wound down for a while, and when I went back to visit, everyone sort of realized I was the key to all the success they were having. When I asked if they knew anybody hiring, I was told maybe Home Depot was.....yet half the people they hired do not hold the same level of skill or certification I do. Same thing has happened repeatedly in jobs. I train somebody and give the the skills...and they get the advancement I had worked towards. I never again will encourage anyone to better themselves or take part in ANYTHING I am doing. Tired of being passed over for others. Fuck everybody.
