I hate cars. In my youth I loved them and taught myself to work on them. I was the guy everybody called on a Tuesday afternoon when their car HAD to run the next morning for work. How many countless al nighters for others? I kept my own cars running and in great shape. Most of only left me when some idiot wrecks into me. But the ones I have left are too much. It's been a constant stream of small things and none of them running 100% at any given time. I'm exhausted working on them and spending money on them. For the first time I am thinking about just getting rid of most of them and my tools and getting a single, small car. I have missed out on life working on my and everybody else's cars. In addition, ALL the people I have ever fixed cars for (transmission/ clutch repair, rebuild engines, brakes, whatever...not just a tuneup) aren't even in my life anymore. What a waste it was helping them as a friend. Now that I could use some help, they are nowhere to be found.

Cars are ruining our world in a lot of ways both globally (CO2 emissions) and locally (noise & accidents). In the not so distant future, most people will just opt for ride hailing. Robotic cars will arrive and cost pennies to ride per mile. Ownership of a car is not worth it economically either. Over a course of a month, count up the hours (minutes) the car is actually being used over how much the car is parked. Dollars to donuts its idle at least 98% of the time! Will 3 years ago
